In 1995-2023, China directly invested $930.8 million in Azerbaijan, Yusif Abdullayev, the Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), said at the SCO Demonstration Zone - Logistics and Trade Promotion Conference in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
According to Abdullayev, $754.1 million was invested in the oil and gas sector, while $176.7 million was invested in the non-oil and gas sector.
“Currently, 245 Chinese companies operate in the fields of industry, agriculture, transport, construction, trade and services in our country,” the executive director noted.
“China is one of the main trade partners of Azerbaijan. In January-May of 2023, the value of the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 26% year-on-year and amounted to $1.3 billion,” Abdullayev added.
