Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with head of the delegation of the Turkish Grand National Assembly to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Mevlud Cavusoglu.

The meeting discussed the existing allied relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, as well as the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov thanked Mevlud Cavusoglu for his contributions to the fraternal and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, irrespective of the latter’s official position.

FM Bayramov highlighted the potential for further developing mutual support and cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations, especially the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). Particularly, the minister emphasized that the historical views of the head of state regarding OTS at the swearing-in ceremony held after the snap presidential election in the country prove that the efforts regarding the development of the Organization would be continued in the future.

Shedding light on the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the ongoing negotiations and current challenges, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov touched upon the fact that a number of states located far from the region are demonstrating a one-sided position that threatens regional peace and integration efforts, as well as the fragile normalization process.

Hailing his visit to Azerbaijan, Mevlud Cavusoglu pointed out that he would spare no efforts to develop the existing relation between the two countries while discharging his current duties, just as he did during his tenure as the foreign minister of Türkiye.

He underscored that Türkiye always supports Azerbaijan's rightful position and concerns regarding threats to the establishment of regional peace and security.
