“I am delighted by President Ilham Aliyev's invitation to the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Shusha. This is because Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is also an integral part of the Turkic world. This is reflected in our history, culture and many other ties. We are representatives of a state spreading Turkism from Central Asia, the Caucasus, Anatolia to the Mediterranean Sea. Taking a place in the Organization of Turkic States and participating in such prestigious event fill us with pride and a sense of accomplishment,” President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Ersin Tatar told AZERTAC.

Recalling that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was elected an observer member of the organization by a unanimous decision at the 9th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Samarkand in 2022, the President of Northern Cyprus said: "That was a historic decision for us. The Organization of Turkic States is an organization developing every year, making great strides, and growing stronger. The relations between the member countries are getting stronger every year, especially in recent years, in almost all realms, from economy to trade, from education to tourism. The main reason for this is that the member countries attach special importance to the Turkic unity, especially the presidents of Türkiye and Azerbaijan, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev. Brinking together the Turkic states and cooperation between them would take this union to a much higher level in the future. In this context, we have very good and sincere relations with Azerbaijan in various domains. I once again express my gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the invitation to the event to be held in Shusha, and on his behalf to all our brothers in Azerbaijan."
