Early presidential elections in Azerbaijan in spotlight of Peruvian media

It is noted that for the first time, elections were held throughout the country, including in the Karabakh region. Almost five million people voted at 6,537 polling stations; for this purpose, polling stations were created in 37 diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan abroad.

Emphasizing that thousands of former internally displaced persons who returned to Karabakh after the war took part in voting for the first time, the author states that about 300 representatives of foreign media covered the elections.

It is noted that the election of the current President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, as the architect of the glorious victory that put an end to the 30-year Armenian occupation in Karabakh, to the highest government post for a period of seven years with more than 92% of the votes, testifies to the people’s trust in their leader.
