Fostering relations between Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) and Jordan News Agency (Petra) would contribute to developing information cooperation between the two countries,” said Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC Vugar Aliyev as he met with Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Omar Barakat Al Nahar.

Vugar Aliyev highlighted AZERTAC`s status as a partner of 50 foreign news agencies and its membership in various international media structures. Emphasizing the Agency`s importance in mutual relations both bilaterally and within the international organizations, the Chairman of the Board noted that the partnership agreement with Jordan News Agency was signed in 2007, therefore, the future development of relations was the need of the time.

In this context, he underscored that information exchange would contribute to combating fake news and disseminating accurate information about the countries.

Noting that relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan were developing in different domains, Omar Barakat Al Nahar stressed the importance of a close partnership between the two countries` leading news agencies in the media sector.

He highlighted the potential for raising awareness about Azerbaijan in Jordan and vice versa through such collaboration. “Thus, the intense cooperation between Petra and AZERTAC news agencies would support the deepening relations between the countries,” the ambassador added.

The sides also exchanged views on media innovations, the importance of various types of content exchange, and other issues of mutual interest.

The ambassador also viewed the conditions created at AZERTAC.
