Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov has met with a delegation led by head of the Kuwait-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary friendship group Mohammed Hayef Al-Mutairi.
The discussions revolved around the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kuwait, as well as the current situation in the region.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hailed the mutually beneficial cooperation agenda and prospects for cooperation between the two countries in various domains, including economic, alternative energy, trade, agriculture, fishing, tourism, culture, education and other realms.
FM Bayramov highlighted the importance of mutual support demonstrated by the two countries within the regional and international organizations, including the United Nations (UN), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
The sides also noted that this year is marked by a landmark event – the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait.
They commended the key role of parliamentary diplomacy, as well as reciprocal visits of the two countries’ parliamentarians in terms of developing relations between the countries.
Underlining that there are great prospects for development of relations, the parties stressed the importance of political consultations and the Joint Commission for Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the State of Kuwait in terms of effectively using the existing potential in this regard.
FM Bayramov informed the Kuwaiti delegation about the ongoing restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the post-conflict period in the liberated Azerbaijani territories, and pointed out that there are great opportunities for the participation of the Kuwaiti side in the process.
During the meeting, the sides also had a broad exchange of views on other regional issues of mutual concern.
