“National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s care for the media and the country's major news services is exemplified by the State News Agency – AZERTAC,” said Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan News Agency (AZERTAC), as he addressed the conference on the theme "National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s role in the development of Azerbaijani press", marking the 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Highlighting the Great Leader's special care for AZERTAC, Vugar Aliyev said: "During the years of the National Leader’s leadership in the country, he signed 5 decrees and orders aimed at bolstering the Agency's capabilities and human resources, furnishing it with cutting-edge equipment, establishing correspondent bureaus abroad, as well as improving the working conditions of employees. I must emphasize that Heydar Aliyev always prioritized the State News Agency during the first period of his leadership in Azerbaijan. Thanks to Heydar Aliyev's authority and insistence during the Soviet era, AZERTAC, known as Azerinform at the time, emerged as one of the first news agencies in the Soviet Union to be equipped with computers."
