Igor Malashevich: Information space of CIS member states vulnerable to external influences

The information space of the CIS member states remains vulnerable to external influence and possible cyberattacks, Advisor to the Department for Cooperation in the Sphere of Security and Combating New Challenges and Threats of the CIS Executive Committee Igor Malashevich said at the 33rd meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the CIS Member States, XQ informs.

“Blocking and stopping the activities of extremist Internet resources is often difficult. The threat of cyberattacks on critical information infrastructure and interference in the management system of industrial facilities, the fuel and energy complex and transport remains,” he said.

He noted that modern technologies, unmanned aerial vehicles and other robotic systems are used to carry out terror attacks.

Malashevich emphasized the importance of cooperation between the member states of the organization for cooperation in ensuring security: “In this regard, I would like to note the significant contribution of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General.”
