Leading German media outlets - including Spiegel, Zeit, Handelsblatt, Berliner Zeitung, Tagesspiegel, Deutsche Welle, Welt, and Tagesschau - have extensively covered the meeting in Washington between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, highlighting the crucial agreement reached.

Reports emphasized the signing of the Joint Declaration by the three heads of state, which aims to end the decades-long conflict and open new opportunities for regional cooperation. The coverage also highlighted the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity,” which will enable unhindered passage between Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Additionally, the Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders jointly appealed to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to dissolve the Minsk Group and related structures, promoting peace, stability, and prosperity based on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The media also noted the signing of bilateral agreements between the U.S., Azerbaijan, and Armenia, including a “Memorandum of Cooperation” between Azerbaijan’s SOCAR and U.S. ExxonMobil.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul welcomed the landmark agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia in his statement.
