Chairman of State Committee on Work with Diaspora meets with Azerbaijani pianist living in Japan

Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov has met with Gulnara Safarova, an Azerbaijani pianist, laureate of international competitions, doctor of pedagogical sciences, who is currently living in Japan.

 

Committee Chairman Fuad Muradov expressed his pleasure to see the Azerbaijani pianist again in homeland.

 

Gulnara Safarova said that she intends to continue publication of the notation manual of an outstanding Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev in Japan. She mentioned that the project started in 2022 with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, and in the fall of 2023, notation manual which included the orchestral score of the ballets “Seven Beauties” and “Don Quixote”, were presented to Japanese music lovers.

 

The meeting focused on the diaspora activities of the Azerbaijanis living in Japan, projects to be implemented in the cultural field, and expansion of the promotion of Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.

 

The guest was presented with the book “The Colors of Azerbaijan: Land of Multiculturalism”, published with the support of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, and a number of other materials.

 

Gulnara Safarova, who was born in 1971 in Tbilisi, currently lives in Tokyo, Japan. Since 2018, she has been leading the music school “Ongaku no Ie” in Japan. Since 2022, she has been a member of the Yamato and Kanagawa Ken-O music societies. She performed international concert programs in Japan, the U.S., Germany and France.
