On July 17, Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office, met with Essam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan.
Warmly welcoming the ambassador, Sheikhulislam highlighted the high-level development of relations between the two friendly countries. He emphasized the importance of the close friendship between President Ilham Aliyev and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, in strengthening bilateral ties. Sheikhulislam also expressed gratitude to the ambassador for his contributions to the development of these relations.
Allahshukur Pashazade underlined the significance of maintaining consistent progress across various fields, including religious cooperation. He asked the ambassador to convey his appreciation to the leadership of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia for the respectful treatment of Azerbaijani pilgrims during this year’s Hajj season.
The ambassador thanked Sheikhulislam for the opportunity to meet once again. He noted that more than 1.7 million pilgrims had visited Saudi Arabia during the recent Hajj pilgrimage and briefed him on the measures undertaken by the Kingdom to ensure the safety and comfort of the guests of Allah. He added that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah maintained communication with nearly 200 countries throughout the season and expressed high appreciation for the performance of Azerbaijan’s Hajj mission. He thanked the CMO Chairman for supporting the mission and affirmed that all necessary steps will continue to be taken to ensure Azerbaijani pilgrims perform their pilgrimage safely and comfortably.
During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
