Cooperation is crucial for women's empowerment and green economy development, Director General of the Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), former Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services of Turkey Zehra Zumrut Selcuk told Report.
The head of SESRIC emphasized the importance of discussions on the topic "Baku Climate Coalition - Green Transition of SMEs: Women's Empowerment," organized by Azerbaijan at the UN headquarters in New York: "This is an extremely important event. Our goal is to discuss women's empowerment, climate change, and the challenges arising in the development of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in accordance with these changes, and to explore ways to address them. Our task is to ensure more active integration of women into economic processes in our societies while simultaneously enhancing their role in the development of the green economy. We discussed these issues together and exchanged views on potential solutions," said the head of the Center.
The director general added that SESRIC closely cooperates with many Azerbaijani organizations.
