One person was killed and two others slightly injured after a dust collector exploded Thursday at a factory in central Japan's Aichi prefecture, Xinhua reports citing local media.
An employee of Chuo Spring Co., a Toyota Motor Corp. affiliate which manufactures springs and other automotive parts in the prefecture city of Toyota, made an emergency call at around 8:05 a.m. local time to request help after the explosion, Kyodo News reported, citing local fire authorities.
The walls and roof of the building where the explosion apparently occurred were blown out and charred, the report said.
A doctor at the scene confirmed the death of one unconscious man aged 40, while the two people who suffered minor injuries are 44 and 52 years old.
It took around three hours to bring the fire under control, the report added.
