“The particular areas of focus will include the implementation of the activities envisaged in the Priority Action Plan in humanitarian cooperation among the CIS member states for 2025-2026, the "CIS Cultural Capital" and "CIS Sports Capital" interstate programs, as well as the "Youth Capital of the CIS international project," said Ilhom Abdurahmon, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan, at a briefing dedicated to Tajikistan’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2025.
"Efforts will be made to ensure the participation of member countries in cultural events, festivals, international and national symposia, the protection and use of historical and cultural heritage monuments, and the implementation of events in the fields of museums, libraries, music, theatres, book publishing and cinematography," the diplomat noted.
“During its chairmanship, Tajikistan will also support efforts to bolster the common scientific and educational space, develop close ties and collaboration, as well as hold regular meetings of heads of educational institutions among scientists and scientific organizations of the CIS countries,” he added.
