The Azerbaijani heritage in Armenia faces the threat of extinction due to systematic actions taken in the country, Moh'd Wahib Ali Hussein, professor at the Hashemite University of Jordan, Report informs.

He made the remark during a panel session of the second international conference titled “The Right to Return: Advancing Justice for Azerbaijanis Expelled from Armenia,” in Baku, organized by the Western Azerbaijan Community.

The professor noted that national identity is a serious matter, and highlighted the importance of preserving the cultural heritage created by Azerbaijanis in Armenia.

"The attempt to destroy heritage is a blow to Azerbaijan's identity. In my opinion, an award should be established for the preservation of Azerbaijani heritage or a project should be implemented to protect Azerbaijani heritage in Armenia. This way, people will keep these monuments in focus and periodically raise issues related to them. If such steps are not taken, it will be difficult to preserve the heritage," Ali Hussein added.
