Azerbaijan has been making significant strides in its efforts to protect the environment and contribute to the global fight against climate change.
According to Report, Sabina Seyidova, head of the Media Analysis Department at the Media Development Agency noted that over 21,000 materials have been published in Azerbaijan covering topics such as reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change.
Speaking at a seminar themed "Green World Solidarity Year in Audiovisual Media," Seyidova emphasized the crucial role media outlets will play in the lead-up to and during the COP29 event. "Media outlets have a great responsibility during the preparation period and the event itself," she stated.
In addition to the extensive media coverage, the Media Development Agency has also organized a competition under the Green World idea, with 17 out of 35 participating media subjects emerging as winners. The agency presented them with green certificates in recognition of their efforts.
Looking ahead, Seyidova announced that the Media Development Agency plans to hold a new competition aimed at further strengthening Azerbaijan's environmental protection and global fight against climate change. "We will release information about this in the coming days," she added.
