COP29 is set to be a resounding success in Azerbaijan, continuing the momentum from COP28 in Dubai, according to Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of the UAE Cabinet for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange.
According to Report, in a statement to journalists, Lootah expressed his confidence that COP29 will be one of the best COP events to date. He wished Azerbaijan the best of luck in concluding the year on the highest note possible.
According to him, the UAE also eagerly anticipates hosting Azerbaijan at the World Government Summit in February 2025, where the country will have the opportunity to showcase its best practices across all government sectors.
Lootah emphasized that the current forum for exchanging experiences between the ministers of Azerbaijan and the UAE is the first of its kind, bringing the two countries together to share knowledge, expertise, and their vision for the future. This program is a result of the government experience exchange program signed between the UAE and Azerbaijan in February 2023, he said.
The deputy minister further highlighted his country's hope for closer partnership with Azerbaijan in all spheres.
COP29 is scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan in November of this year, following the decision made at the COP28 plenary session held in Dubai on December 11, 2023. The event is expected to draw approximately 70,000 to 80,000 foreign guests to the Azerbaijani capital.
