The deadline is rapidly approaching and with only just over ten days to go to get your entries in – have you got what it takes to enter and win The EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 award?

You only have until 29th December to submit your entry.

The competition is for those who are truly outstanding in the business world. The winners are highly driven and ambitious individuals who know no boundaries, having achieved global or national success and growth through creativity and personal drive.

For the last 5 consecutive years, EY has honored the fresh ideas and explosive growth that occur when entrepreneurs apply their ingenuity to shape our world.

Eligibility

Your business must be based, or have its main operation, in Azerbaijan, and have been incorporated for two years as of 1 January 2022. The entrant must be responsible for the company’s success, that is: managing director, CEO or a director with a personal financial stake in the business and must have been in the role for a minimum of two years.

Why would you apply?

Participation in the contest offers quite a few benefits for those who take part. Some of the key benefits are raising the profile of your company, achieving widespread media coverage, attracting new business partners and opportunities, and – in some cases – increased revenue.

Who will decide who the winners are?

The jury is entirely independent of EY and comprises reputable members of the professional community, such as prominent entrepreneurs, top managers and representatives of international financial institutions. The judges are looking for people with entrepreneurial spirit and personal integrity who have inspired their teams, shown innovation, overcome adversity and had national and global impact.

Who won the contest in the past?

The EY Entrepreneur Of the Year 2023 prize was awarded to Seymur Mammadov, the founder of ‘Simbrella’, a company specializing in mobile fintech services. The year before the contest was won by Afat Ahmadova, the founder of ‘Zira Natural & Gourmet’, the producer of organic premium-quality sauces and jams.

These award winners have had a profound influence on the business community, the products and services on which we depend, and the economic vibrancy of our local communities. EY Azerbaijan genuinely believes that soon enough Azerbaijani businessmen and businesswomen will set trends and have influence on global markets too.

When did it start?

First held in 2019, the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® program has grown into the most prestigious business award in the country and has recognized tens of outstanding Azerbaijani entrepreneurs for their vision, innovation, courage and leadership in building and growing successful companies.

Perhaps most noteworthy of all, and most important for the years ahead, our Entrepreneur Of The Year Award winners are purposeful—intentionally leaving lasting legacies for those who come next. They set fine examples for what can happen to employee retention, investment, brand loyalty and competitive results when you tap into the galvanizing power of purpose.
