AZERTAC-supported photo exhibition launched in Thessaloniki to mark 100th anniversary of National Leader

An opening ceremony of a photo exhibition reflecting the life and activities of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev has been held in Thessaloniki, Greece with the support of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), State Committee for Work with Diaspora, and the Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Association “Gala”.

 

The event was attended by the employees of the Azerbaijani embassy in Greece, representatives of the Thessaloniki Turkish Consulate General and diplomatic corps, as well as the local community members.

 

In his opening remark, Chairman of the Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Association “Gala” Rashid Mammadov highlighted the historical and unparalleled services of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as his domestic and foreign policy.

 

The charge d'affaires of Azerbaijan in Greece, Gafgaz Aslansoy, briefed the event participants on the international and regional projects implemented thanks to the initiative of the Great Leader, underscoring that Azerbaijan has transformed into an agrarian-industrial country as a result of the important projects implemented by Heydar Aliyev in the areas of science, education, culture, social and economy.

 

Aslansoy also emphasized that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani lands were liberated, and the territorial integrity of the country was restored.

 

Touching upon the brotherly and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Turkish Consulate General in Thessaloniki Serkan Gedik described it as an example for the whole world.

 

The event also featured the screening of a video made by AZERTAC on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev highlighting the life and activities of the Great Leader.

 

Following the opening ceremony, the participants viewed the photo exhibition.
