“The issue we are addressing today-the fate of missing persons-I think it doesn’t have enough attention at the global level. So, I think more and more people should be in the situation to discuss this,” said former Prime Minister of Moldova Chiril Gaburici as he addressed the international conference on “Increasing national and global efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons” in Baku.
“The one who went missing – usually they are silent. They don’t have access to enough information. They don’t have access to tweet themselves, or to set up a Facebook page in order to organize a protest, or to make sure someone is hearing them. When people are missing the family members, usually women and children they are terrified to seek what is the fate of their loved ones,” Gaburici underlined.
“In all countries that had a situation of a war conflict, we are seeing the situation in terms of big number of missing people. In Azerbaijan, the figure of missing people is almost coming to 4 thousand. In case of Azerbaijan and Armenia, I really hope that the communication will come up to a level that parties or Azerbaijan will get as much as possible information in order to clarify this issue, help families to find their family members which are missed,” he emphasized
