The preliminary results of the technical and economic feasibility study for the Caspian-Black Sea-Europea green energy corridor will be announced within the framework of COP29, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said at the Baku Climate Action Week, Report informs.
According to Shahbazov, an intergovernmental agreement on strategic cooperation in the development and transmission of green energy between Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan is also expected to be signed soon: "These corridors will have positive effects on supply security and the transition to clean energy by establishing regional and intercontinental connections."
The minister stated that today, Azerbaijan, as the COP29 host, is the author of initiatives supporting the global energy transition: "Three out of 14 initiatives - green energy zones and corridors, global energy storage and networks, and the hydrogen declaration - aim to support meeting the challenges of achieving net zero globally in terms of energy and accelerating the energy transition."
