Ensuring the environmental safety of the Caspian Sea is important for the region, Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia Petr Gorodov said.
Report informs that speaking at a five-party meeting of representatives of the prosecutor general's offices of the Caspian states in Baku, Gorodov said the joint work of the Caspian countries on the issue of sea protection is a factor in ensuring the security of economic entities in the region.
Gorodov noted that the development of the North-South transport corridor also involves the use of maritime transport across the Caspian Sea.
