The Gudauri ski resort of Georgia will host the first-ever FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships on April 6-7 under the auspices of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS). Guests from Azerbaijan were also invited to join the championships.
According to a Georgian official, hosting international tournaments has a positive impact on strengthening the tourism industry and fostering economic progress in mountainous regions.
The FIS Snowboard Junior Championships, which was initially held in Italy in 1997, has been hosted in various countries including Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Sweden over the years.
