Azerbaijan to host international conference on biodiversity in October

Azerbaijan will host an international conference titled "Conservation of Biodiversity and Sustainable Ecological Development in the Liberated Territories" on October 29, Report informs.

The event will be organized by the Dendrology Institute, Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Biology and Medical Sciences Department of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Russia's Main Botanical Garden, the University of Massachusetts Amherst (College of Agriculture), Kazakhstan"s Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction, North Kazakhstan University named after Manash Kozybayev, Al-Farabi University in Uzbekistan, Pakistan's OAK Consulting Organization, and Erzurum Technical University of Türkiye.

The main goal of the conference is to assess the current state of biodiversity in the Karabakh economic region, ensure its conservation, development, and the restoration of rare and endangered species. It will also address the scientific evaluation of anthropogenic impacts on biodiversity and explore ways to eliminate them using evidence-based methods.

The conference further aims to apply research findings that support sustainable ecological development in the region and to create a scientific platform for experience exchange among experts in this field.

Ecology
