Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has today held a board meeting to review the results of 2023 and outline outstanding tasks for 2024.
In attendance were the heads of the corresponding structural divisions and institutions of the ministry, as well as the deputy minister of ecology and natural resources of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The meeting participants described the declaration of 2024 as the “Green World Solidarity Year” in Azerbaijan by President Ilham Aliyev as a significant contribution to the protection of environment. The discussions also revolved around the forthcoming tasks regarding Azerbaijan’s hosting the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) next year.
The meeting also saw discussions on the events held in Azerbaijan to mark the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the expansion of green spaces in the country, the progress on the implementation of the first state program for the great return to the de-occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
