The Israel Tax Authority reported that in November 2025, 27,412 vehicles (private) were imported, compared to 26,128 in November 2024, an increase of 4.9%. These volumes in both November 2025 and November 2024 are at a high level relative to the average for a normal month, according to TPS-IL.
Apparently, this is a preparation for an increase in the purchase tax on the import of electric vehicles starting on January 1, 2026, similar to the preparations in November 2024 before the tax increase on January 1, 2025, explained the Authority.
Commercial vehicle imports totaled 732 compared to 709 in November 2024, an increase of 3.2%.
In the period January – November 2025, vehicle imports totaled 203,400 vehicles, compared to 230,882 vehicles in the same period last year. This is a decrease of 11.9%, which was due to the advance in December 2024, which was more than twice as large as the advance in December 2023.
Trend data indicates a moderate increase in passenger vehicle imports starting in mid-2025.
