The first batch of F-16s will arrive in Ukraine from Denmark in the spring, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said following the signing of an agreement on security cooperation.

The Danish Ministry of Defense announced the supply of F-16s to Ukraine the previous summer.

"We are working very persistently in this aspect and I hope that we will be able to see F-16s in the airspace of Ukraine in the near future before the summer," she said in response to a question from a Ukrainian journalist about the timing of the appearance of Danish F-16s in Ukraine,

According to her, the delay in the delivery of fighter jets to Ukraine is due to technical reasons, since their maintenance "requires serious infrastructure."

The Ukrainian leader, commenting on the timing of F-16 deliveries, said that the fighters desired by Kiev will appear this year, without indicating an exact date.
