Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili held talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, XQ informs via the Georgian media.
Erdogan and Garibashvili discussed regional security issues, as well as the results of the strategic partnership between the two countries and new prospects for cooperation in the future.
Garibashvili noted that Georgia and Türkiye have achieved significant progress in cooperation, which is reflected in both economic and political dimensions. Existing regional projects are a clear example of effective strategic cooperation, sustainable development and a reliable partnership between Georgia and Türkiye, which will bring more economic independence, security and stability to both countries.
The Georgian Prime Minister thanked Erdogan for his strong support for Georgia's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and European and North Atlantic integration.
At the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the head of the Georgian government will make a speech. In addition, during the visit, Garibashvili will also hold high-level bilateral meetings.
The official opening of the 78th sessions of the UN General Assembly took place on September 5, but the main events of the UNGA session will begin on September 19, when a high-level week opens with the participation of heads of countries and governments, and foreign ministers from around the world.
