Azerbaijan expands powers of commissions on juvenile affairs and protection of rights

Azerbaijan has made changes to the names and powers of Commissions on Minors' Affairs and Protection of Their Rights operating in the country, Report informs.

In this regard, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the Family Code and the law "On Approval of the Regulations on Commissions on Minors' Affairs and Protection of Their Rights."

From now on, these commissions will be called "Commissions for the Protection of Children's Rights."

Additionally, according to the amendment, these commissions will be authorized to monitor the organization of educational work among minors in educational institutions, as well as in enterprises, organizations, and institutions where minors work, regardless of their property and organizational-legal form, within their authority.
