In a significant move to facilitate the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, the Government of Azerbaijan has introduced a free e-visa system for accredited delegates.
The UNFCCC secretariat told Report that delegates can obtain their visas through the official e-visa portal or via Azerbaijan's diplomatic missions and consulates abroad. The streamlined process ensures that visas are issued within just three working days following the submission of an online application or an in-person request at Azerbaijani diplomatic offices.
The 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is set to take place in November 2024, drawing global attention to the pressing issue of climate change.
