The COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company organised the Eco Enacthon project for COP29 volunteers. This two-day interactive event brought together volunteers in the development of innovative projects designed to tackle urgent environmental challenges.

The event, which took place at the Heydar Aliyev Centre on August 29-30, featured COP29 volunteers engaging in a variety of training sessions on the first day. Led by specialised experts, these sessions addressed an array of environmental topics, including climate change, sustainability, and waste management. Additionally, workshops focused on developing sustainable business ideas and the creation and management of sustainable product brands.

The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the training sessions was applied on the second day of the programme through an environmental project competition. Volunteers were divided into several teams, each responsible for developing projects based on given topics and assignments throughout the day. These projects were then presented to a panel of judges.

The Eco Enacthon not only fostered team spirit among COP29 volunteers but also highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts. The volunteers’ projects spanned various fields, from sustainable energy solutions to innovative waste management initiatives. Judges awarded prizes to the projects that demonstrated the most creative approaches and addressed the most relevant issues.

This event, aimed at promoting innovative thinking among young people in tackling the impacts of climate change and encouraging different approaches to existing problems, provided a platform for youth to express and implement their ideas. The volunteers also benefited from valuable mentoring advice from experts, supporting their potential and fostering their initiatives.
