The reason for raising the minimum service requirement for military service retirement in Azerbaijan from 20 calendar years to 25 calendar years has been announced.
According to the information obtained by "Report", the head of the Legal Department of the Ministry of Defense, Elchin Aliyev, said this at today's meeting of the Labor and Social Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis "On the Status of Military Servicemen", "On Approving the Regulations on "Commissioning Military Service", "On Labor Pensions". " and "On military duty and military service" during the first reading of the draft amendment bill.
According to him, the number of people who want to serve in the Azerbaijan Army is increasing:
"By increasing the age limit, we create conditions for them to develop and serve in the army. By doing this, we increase those percentages in order not to violate their right to retire. Even though these percentages are 2 percent in other institutions, we will increase them to 3 percent."
It should be noted that with the proposed amendment to the Law "On Military Duty and Military Service" and the Regulation "On Military Retirement", the minimum service requirement for retirement as a military servant has been changed in order to use the experience of military personnel who spent time and resources on their training by the state for a longer period of time. It is proposed to increase from 20 calendar years to 25 calendar years. The mentioned change envisages an increase in the pension provision of military personnel of a number of institutions, excluding any reduction in the pension provision of military personnel.
