On April 18, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Paulo Rangel, Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal, as part of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Portugal, the expansion of political dialogue, as well as cooperation in economic, trade, humanitarian, and other fields.
The ministers also discussed opportunities for further expanding cooperation through the Portuguese Embassy, which is planned to be opened in Azerbaijan in the near future.
The parties emphasized the importance of cooperation within international organizations and the exchange of experience in the field of multilateral diplomacy. The priorities of both countries within the UN and the European Union were reviewed, and the importance of joint efforts was highlighted.
The ministers discussed the regional situation in the post-conflict period. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his counterpart about Azerbaijan’s peace agenda and the steps taken in this direction.
The sides also exchanged views on regional issues of mutual interest and the situation in the Middle East. They emphasized the importance of restoring stability in the region and expressed hope that the negotiations would yield successful results.
