On April 18, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, as part of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The sides exchanged views on the existing bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Algeria, as well as the prospects for relations in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres.
In this context, the importance of the agreement on the establishment of a Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the two countries was emphasized. The sides also noted the significance of bringing together the business communities for the implementation of joint projects.
The ministers discussed cooperation and mutual support within the framework of the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned Movement, and other regional and international organizations. Joint activities were also considered in the context of Azerbaijan hosting the OIC Summit in 2027.
At the same time, the importance of reducing tensions in the Middle East, strengthening the ceasefire, and resolving conflicts through diplomatic means was emphasized.
The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
