On April 18, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Joao Bernardo Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities of Guinea-Bissau, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Guinea-Bissau, as well as opportunities for collaboration in political, economic, humanitarian, tourism, energy, and other fields.
The importance of continuing joint activities to advance common interests within multilateral platforms, particularly the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement, was emphasized.
They also highlighted the importance of expanding economic and trade relations, exchanging experience in the field of natural resource development, sharing knowledge and best practices in the delivery of public services, and making more active use of scholarship programs and other opportunities in education and vocational training.
FM Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan attaches special importance to the further development of relations with countries of the African continent, including Guinea-Bissau.
During the meeting, the ministers exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
