Azerbaijan and Jordan intensify efforts to further expand cooperation

On April 18, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

During the meeting, the sides discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Jordan, as well as the situation in the Middle East region.

The ministers emphasized the importance of further intensifying efforts to develop the friendly and partnership relations between the two countries and to expand cooperation both bilaterally and within international organizations. They hailed the mutual support based on friendship and solidarity between the two countries within the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other multilateral platforms.

The ministers held a detailed discussion on the current security situation in the Middle East.

The sides stated that the crisis can only be resolved through political and diplomatic means and expressed hope that dialogue and negotiations would lead to successful outcomes.

They also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
