Azerbaijan’s long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with NATO highly appreciated

On April 18, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Kevin Hamilton, NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Ambassador Hamilton on his appointment to the post and wished him success in his activities.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for partnership relations between Azerbaijan and NATO.

Azerbaijan’s long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation with NATO was highly appreciated, and the importance of activities carried out within the framework of the Partnership for Peace programme was emphasized.

The benefits of partnership tools and joint projects between Azerbaijan and NATO for developing future cooperation were also noted.

The sides recalled with satisfaction the visit of ambassadors of NATO member states to Azerbaijan in November last year, noting that such visits are highly useful.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed Kevin Hamilton on the current situation in the region, the post-conflict normalization process with Armenia, restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories, as well as steps taken to ensure lasting peace.

The sides also exchanged views on challenges observed in the international security environment, including geopolitical tensions and regional conflicts.

Politics
