Azerbaijan, Georgia discuss religious cooperation

As part of its visit to Tbilisi, an Azerbaijani delegation of the State Committee on Religious Associations held a meeting with Zaza Vashakmadze, Chairman of the Georgian State Agency for Religious Issues.

The meeting focused on relations between the two countries in the field of religion and future cooperation.

The sides also exchanged views on issues related to religious communities, churches, and mosques operating in both countries.

Sahib Nagiyev, Deputy Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Religious Associations, spoke about the situation of religious communities in the country, adding that the state attaches great importance to this area.

The parties also noted that such visits would further strengthen cooperation in the religious sphere between Georgia and Azerbaijan, as well as contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
