China has expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan and other countries for their support in evacuating Chinese citizens amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, said Guo Jiakun, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference.
Guo Jiakun noted that 3,125 Chinese nationals have been evacuated from Iran and more than 500 from Israel following recent hostilities between the two countries.
The evacuees include citizens from mainland China, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Taiwan.
