Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister met with Mehdi Sanaei, Political Advisor to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meeting, the discussions revolved around various aspects of the current bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Iran, as well as regional and international security issues.
The sides emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits and contacts, as well as the current political dialogue in the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran. They underlined that the discussions on the issues of common interest had contributed to enhancing cooperation.
The meeting also explored prospects for collaboration in multiple fields, including politics, economy, trade, energy security, transportation, and communications. Both parties highlighted that several joint projects implemented by Azerbaijan and Iran play a crucial role in the development of regional transport corridors.
The parties underlined that the State Commission for Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in economic, trade and humanitarian fields was an important platform for exploring existing cooperation in relevant domains.
The meeting stressed the importance of fostering cooperation within regional and international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and D-8.
