Turkish Haber7 TV channel has prepared a report on the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), set to take place in Baku.

The report commends Azerbaijan's call for a ceasefire during COP29, noting that the initiative is increasingly supported worldwide.

The channel also highlighted the countdown to this significant UN event in Azerbaijan, where the adoption of the "New Collective Quantitative Target" is anticipated. “COP29 is a major platform aimed at fostering global solidarity to address climate change, support sustainable development, and accelerate the green transition,” the report states.

The report includes insights from Farid Shahbazli, Chairman of the "Reformer Youth" Public Union, who emphasized COP29’s significance for all humanity. He remarked, “Azerbaijan's contributions to addressing environmental challenges are widely recognized, with official Baku’s initiatives receiving growing global support.”

It also underscores the Azerbaijani authorities’ call for global unity and solidarity in combating climate change. Farid Shahbazli noted that Azerbaijan’s focus on solving humanity’s challenges extends beyond ecological issues, addressing a range of global concerns.

Shahbazli recalled President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks, describing COP29 as "the result of the peace process." He also highlighted the support for Baku’s reconciliation initiative from Non-Aligned Movement member countries during the climate conference.
