Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day celebrated in Baku

An official reception was arranged on Saturday in Baku marking Kyrgyzstan’s 33rd Independence Day and 100th anniversary of the Kara-Kirghiz Autonomous Oblast.

The event saw the presence of prominent figures, including Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of IDEA Public Union, alongside state and government representatives, members of the Milli Majlis, diplomatic corps, and public representatives.

During the ceremony, Maksat Mamitkanov, Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan, expressed his gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva for her participation and highlighted the strong and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. He praised the high level of cooperation and joint activities between the two nations, emphasizing the historical significance of the event for Kyrgyz statehood.

Underlining the importance of the state visit of the Kyrgyz President to Azerbaijan this April, the diplomat touched upon the importance of establishment of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz Development Fund, mentioning its role in enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

The diplomat expressed his assurance that the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani friendship, based on historical roots, would continue to evolve at an increasing pace on the basis of common interests.

Congratulating the Kyrgyz Republic on the Independence Day, Leyla Aliyeva, wished peace and prosperity to the Kyrgyz people and recited her poem dedicated to Lake Issyk-Kul.

A memorial gift was presented to Leyla Aliyeva at the event.

Speaking about the economic relations between the two states, as well as fruitful cooperation in the area of renewable energy, joint investments in the wind and energy sector, Parviz Shahbazov, Azerbaijani Energy Minister, noted that the Kyrgyz Republic supports Azerbaijan in the ongoing construction works in the liberated Azerbaijani territories.

Mikhail Yevdokimov, Russia's ambassador to Azerbaijan, and other speakers congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its independence day and wished the Kyrgyz people peace, tranquillity and progress.

The event concluded with featuring a video highlighting Azerbaijan-Kyrgyz friendship.
