Some countries interested in joining BRICS, director of center for South Caucasus studies says

Some states have expressed interest in joining the international organization BRICS, the Director of the Center for South Caucasus Studies, Farhad Mammadov, said at the ‘Azerbaijan and BRICS: Opportunities and Prospects’ event, Report informs.

According to Mammadov, BRICS operates in the format of a consultative body.

“Currently, 16 countries are interested in the BRICS+ summit and want to take part in it. Among them are Algeria, Kazakhstan, Vietnam and Pakistan. Also, states friendly to Azerbaijan would like to join this organization. The advantage of BRICS is the absence of restrictions,” he said.
