The US Agency for International Development does not stop trying to confuse the neighboring country

Recently, attacks against the Georgian Orthodox Church regarding the celebration of religious holidays have been carried out by opposition parties, so-called civil society activists and media outlets belonging to the United National Movement Party.

This was said by the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, during a briefing in Tbilisi. The views expressed by Mr. Papuashvili, in fact, can be considered as a continuation of the topic of the agenda that dominated the country in October last year. Because the speaker of the parliament again spoke about USAID, that is, the United States Agency for International Development. More precisely, from the organization's attempts to confuse Georgia.

It should be noted that on October 2 of last year, the State Security Service of Georgia accused USAID of attempting to change the government in the country. It was reported from the state institution that the organization financed Serbians who were trained in violent protest methods for this purpose. Thus, at the invitation of USAID's East-West Management Institute, three Serbian citizens - Sinisa Sikman, Jelena Stoisic and Slobodan Jinovic came to Georgia.

The main goal of those persons was to establish relations with NGOs and youths who planned illegal and destructive activities in October-December and to train them. At the time, it was reported that the named citizens of Serbia participated in the USAID-sponsored exercise. In 2003, the State Security Service of Georgia announced that the aforementioned Serbs, who were related to the revolutionary processes experienced in the country, had been detained before and emphasized that they had participated in similar events in Serbia, Ukraine and other countries in different years.

In addition, we should note that in October of last year, the ruling party "Georgian Dream" also released a statement and declared that the money of the American people was spent on the planning of revolutionary processes in Georgia. At that time, S. Papuashvili said that USAID should explain why the money of the American people was used to incite riots in another country, to prepare groups that plan them and commit violence.

It should be noted that what happened in Georgia is not the only scandal related to USAID. In general, the name of this institution has always been associated with open interference in political processes, attempted coups and other issues in the countries where it works. After all, USAID operates as a subsidiary of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Of course, with slightly different methods. That is, the organization interferes in the internal affairs of individual countries in the name of aid, creates fertile conditions for revolution and chaos. The main goal is the overthrow of the authorities that do not benefit the United States. But how does the organization plan to make it happen?

It is known that USAID allocated nearly 10 billion dollars for the construction of "civil society" in various countries in 2023-2025. It is also known that not only USAID, in general, especially this institution, organizations and movements affiliated with the US government interfere in political processes, create conflict, and prefer manipulative methods in the name of contributing to the development of civil societies. We are talking about NED, Friedrich Naumann, Marshall, IREX and other such institutions. By the way, they were also "active" in Azerbaijan and tried to form a pressure network against the political authorities. Of course, they could not achieve their wishes and it is impossible for them to achieve their goals. Because, especially, after the 44-day war, the government-people unity in Azerbaijan has become stronger. That is why USAID changed their tactics. They are trying to take advantage of LGBT, "feminists" and "NO WAR" people who are a threat to national values.

As for Georgia, more specifically, what S. Papuashvili has said now, let's emphasize that according to the speaker of the parliament, the attacks against the Georgian Orthodox Church that have been noticeable until now in connection with the celebration of religious holidays are part of a pre-planned, coordinated process and are at a dangerous level that can cause irreparable damage to civil peace. has arrived. S. Papuashvili mentioned a specific name in his statement. According to him, the attacks in question were planned by "so-called civil society organizations", including the "Laboratory for the Study of the Soviet Past" (SovLab) and its director Georgi Kandelaki.

S. Papuashvili also announced that one of the campaign participants was Beka Mindiashvili, head of the Center for Tolerance under the Public Defender, "who is distinguished by his rhetoric of hostility towards the Orthodox Church." At this point in the conversation, the name of USAID was mentioned again. "Tolerance Center is financed within the framework of one of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) "Unity in Diversity" programs," added the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

S. Papuashvili said that USAID is at the epicenter of the scandal related to the projects it finances for the tenth time: "I expect that the USAID leadership will quickly clarify this issue and act in accordance with the interests of the American and Georgian people. "The NGO sector of Georgia is dominated by politicians engaged in party propaganda, which is almost entirely financed from abroad."

In the meantime, the first vice-speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Georgi Volski also spoke about the mentioned issue. He said that the aggressive statements of individual citizens at the church level are against the state and are aimed at destabilizing the current situation: "USAID should also take a deeper look at the programs it funds and how they correspond to the interests of the communities it serves, supports and does so much good in this country." .

G. Volski also said that the program called "Unity and Diversity" is fundamentally different from the program financed by USAID and does not correspond to its name. I would be happy. I hope they didn't know. Because the name they sponsor is completely different," said Volsky.
