Azerbaijani, Palestinian FMs discuss Gaza situation1

As part of his working visit to Uganda to participate in the 19th Summit of NAM Heads of State and Government, Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyadh al-Maliki.

 

The meeting addressed the current situation in Gaza, along with the ongoing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Palestine and Azerbaijan.

 

The parties expressed their contentment with the current state of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. They hailed the mutual support demonstrated by the two countries within regional and international organizations.

 

Minister Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan`s consistent support for the "two-state solution" to the Palestinian issue, aligning with international legal norms and UN Security Council resolutions.

 

He highlighted Azerbaijan`s practical efforts at the national level to address the consequences of the conflict, including during its chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.

 

FM Bayramov mentioned that Azerbaijan donated two million US dollars to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in support of Palestine.

 

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
