Algerian FM: Azerbaijan has successfully chaired Non-Aligned Movement for four years

 

 

Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf has commended Azerbaijan’s successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) for a four year-term as he met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov on the sidelines of the 19th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement in Kampala, Uganda.

 

During the meeting, the two explored the current bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries, as well as the regional situation.

 

The parties lauded the increase of mutual contacts observed recently between Azerbaijan and Algeria.

 

The ministers pointed out the ample opportunities for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Algeria in economic, trade, energy security, education, culture and other domains, stressing the importance of the political consultations in terms of discussing the existing opportunities.

 

Minister Ahmet Attaf praised Azerbaijan’s key role in revival of the Movement, expressing appreciation to the Azerbaijani side for the efforts made in this regard.

 

During the meeting, the FMs also noted the mutually beneficial cooperation agenda between Algeria and Azerbaijan, especially within the regional and international organizations, and stressed the importance of increasing mutual contacts in terms of further advancing cooperation.
