Azerbaijan has always played an important role in facilitating peace processes and initiatives, Khalid Taimur Akram, executive director at the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF), told Report.
“Azerbaijan’s unwavering dedication to cooperation is evident in its persistent endeavors to extend olive branches to Armenia. However, Armenia’s hesitation to embrace every peace initiative has hindered the advancement of regional stability and progress. The role of Azerbaijan has been consistent and pivotal, aimed at achieving peace, progress, and stability.
In contrast, Armenia’s insistence on having guarantors for the peace treaty appears to be a tactical move aimed at garnering support.
Armenia should be the most interested party, as it would allow the country to finally break free from the blockade and open up broad prospects for economic cooperation with neighbors, making it advantageous for its future participation in extensive trans-Eurasian transport and logistics projects,” he added.
