Azerbaijan Defense Minister receives Turkish delegation

On December 20, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, received a delegation from the Land Forces Command of the Turkish Armed Forces, led by Lieutenant General Tuncay Altuğ, according to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Defense, Colonel General Hasanov welcomed the guests and expressed his pleasure at their visit to Azerbaijan.

The discussion focused on the long history of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, tracing their cooperation from ancient times. The Minister of Defense emphasized that, due to the personal friendship and strong ties between the leaders of both fraternal nations, military cooperation has significantly progressed, culminating in a strategic alliance in the modern era.

Lieutenant General Altuğ expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality and shared his positive impressions of the meetings held during the visit.

The importance of exchanging experiences, conducting joint exercises, and organizing bilateral visits was highlighted to further enhance military cooperation between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a comprehensive exchange of views took place on regional security, the current state of military relations, and other matters of mutual interest, the Ministry of Defense reported.
