In accordance with the training plan for 2026, a shooting championship started among servicemen of the Azerbaijan Army, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry told AZERTAC.

At the opening ceremony of the event, the memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev and Shehids, who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, was honored with a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.

At the initial stage of the championship, a drawing procedure was held among the participating teams.

Afterwards, the personnel were briefed on safety rules and the conditions of the competition.

In line with the competition program, the participating servicemen will carry out tasks involving the engagement of targets positioned at various distances.

At the end, servicemen who achieve the highest results in both individual and team standings during the practical shooting will be awarded.

The main objective of the championship, held in compliance with the rules for the organization and conduct of sports and military-sports competitions in the Azerbaijan Army, is to improve the practical shooting skills and proficiency of servicemen.
