The Heydar Aliyev Center is showcasing another remarkable work of art, starting April 1st. Today marked the unveiling of "My Heart is Yours," a sculpture by Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn, meticulously crafted from Bohemian crystal and 6,500-year-old oak.

This is the debut exhibition of the artwork.

Opening the event, Anar Alakbarov, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center, highlighted the Center's commitment to showcasing diverse exhibitions, including a consistent focus on Italian art.

Mr. Alakbarov recalled the successful presentation of Quinn's "Equilibrium in Nature" exhibition during COP29 last year, noting its popularity with visitors. He expressed gratitude to the artist, the exhibition curator, and all those involved in bringing the project to fruition.

Olga Daniele, founder of "365 Art" and the exhibition's curator, explained the extensive journey the artist undertook to realize the final form of "My Heart is Yours." She emphasized the specialized craftsmanship required to shape the crystal and the remarkable 6,500-year history of the ancient oak used in the piece.

Lorenzo Quinn, the artist, shared his excitement about premiering "My Heart is Yours" at the Heydar Aliyev Center. He emphasized the power of art to unite people, histories, and cultures. "I believe in love and affection. When people meet and their hearts connect, that bond is unbreakable. 'My Heart is Yours,' created with ancient oak, symbolizes the enduring nature of lasting relationships."

The composition is considered a unique masterpiece, embodying both fragility and strength. Quinn intentionally used contrasting materials: delicate hands of Bohemian crystal, known for its fragility, cradle a heart crafted from robust oak, symbolizing strength and resilience. While Quinn is renowned for his expressive sculptures of hands, this is the first time he has worked with crystal in this way.

Lorenzo Quinn's solo exhibition, "Equilibrium in Nature," is currently on display at the Heydar Aliyev Center. "My Heart is Yours" serves as an extension of this exhibition, further amplifying the message of the essential connection between humanity and nature, originating from the Heydar Aliyev Center.
